1st Choice Removals is a family-run removals and storage company based at Canford Business Park near Wimborne in Dorset. It has moved homes and businesses since 1990. Alan and Richard Vaughan founded it with a single 3.5-tonne lorry, and the same family still runs it. Chris and Fiona look after removals, while Alan and Richard run the storage side.
The business carries out house moves, office moves and local moves around Christchurch, Ferndown, Broadstone, Verwood, Ringwood and Blandford, as well as moves across Bournemouth, Poole, the UK, Europe and worldwide. UK moves are carried out by full-time staff and trained crews. European moves are carried out with partner removal firms. Specialist removals include pianos and wooden crates made to measure.
Each move starts with a free home visit in a BH postcode or DT11. Customers elsewhere send room videos or photos from a phone. A written quote follows by email. A packing service labels everything before moving day, and unpacking is an option. On the day, the crew lays heavy-duty sheeting on floors and carpets, pads banisters, doors and door frames, and wraps fragile items. Furniture is placed in the chosen rooms and anything taken apart is reassembled.
