About Abels Moving Services
Abels Moving Services is a removals and storage business based in Huntingdon. It moves households across the UK and internationally, handles office and business relocations, and operates storage facilities. The services listed are house removals with packing and unpacking, international relocations with customs and export packing, commercial moves, fine art and antiques packing, piano moving, vehicle transportation, luggage delivery for overseas moves, and storage for furniture and valuables.
The business covers the UK and works worldwide for international moves. Abels was founded in 1958 by Noel D Abel and began by delivering goods from salesrooms across Norfolk. Every team member is trained at the in-house Abels Training School. Work starts with a personal consultation by phone to understand the move and any specialist items, followed by a free home survey or video assessment. A detailed written quote is then provided covering costs, timelines and services included. On moving day, the trained crew handles packing, loading, transport, unpacking and arranging belongings in the new home.
Abels holds a Royal Warrant for Removals and Storage Services, first awarded in 1988 and renewed in 2025. The business is the first removals company ever granted this accolade. All removals include comprehensive liability cover, with additional protection available for high-value items. Specialist packing uses premium moving paper, bubble wrap, sturdy boxes and secure tape. The business handles grandfather clocks, chandeliers, paintings and pianos with custom methods for each item.
