It carries out domestic and commercial removals, packing services, and offers secure storage across Cumbria and the Lake District. The business moves households and offices locally, nationally, across Europe and internationally, with full and part loads available. The business has warehouse facilities in Cumbria and Dumfries offering containerised storage for domestic and commercial customers. Customers can book a video survey using a mobile or tablet to help price their move, or request a visit for a written quote.

Binnings of Cumbria dates back to at least 1932, when it began as a coal merchant and contractor. The company became the responsibility of Peter Nelson back in 2002 and after his retirement has passed to his son Ian. Ian and his colleague Mark remain integral parts of the team. Binnings is a member of the British Association of Removers and operates under the BAR CTSI code of practice approved by the Trading Standards Institute. The business offers dispute resolution services through BAR membership.
