About Britannia Movers International
Britannia Movers International is a removals cooperative based in Redhill, Surrey, operating since 1981. The business carries out house removals, office removals and international removals for private customers and corporate clients. It also offers storage, packing services, pet transport, white glove handling and groupage shipping for smaller overseas consignments.
The business covers the UK through a network of local offices nationwide. For international moves, it ships to Europe by road through its branch network and arranges deep sea shipments to destinations worldwide including Australia and Asia. Groupage shipping combines smaller household shipments into single containers to reduce costs. Full container loads and less than container load services are also available. The main shipping warehouse is in Redhill, with nationwide drop-off points at Britannia depots.
Britannia was formed as a cooperative by seven family-run moving businesses to enable smaller provincial movers to offer shipping services competitively. Each member holds an equal shareholding. The business expanded into corporate moving in the 1990s and became a key supplier to the Ministry of Defence and relocation companies. It upgraded to PLC status in 1997 and linked with major moving groups in Germany, Holland, France and Italy to form the European Moving Group. Today, Britannia operates a network of overseas removal partners handpicked over four decades, all accredited members of FIDI or IAM. The business relocated its head office to purpose-built premises in Merstham, Surrey in 2016.
