About Dollimore & Christie ltd

Dollimore & Christie is a family-run removal company based in Hitchin with roots going back to the early 1900s. It was established in 1977 by acquiring the business of Dollimores, removers in Hertfordshire since the early 1900s. The firm carries out removals, storage and packing, including archive storage, for households and businesses moving within the UK, Europe and worldwide.

The business operates across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex, including Ashwell. Dollimore & Christie has five members of the Christie family currently involved. Permanent, fully trained staff handle removals and packing. The firm maintains its own fleet of vehicles and has four warehouses for storage containers, which are brought to the new address unopened to avoid double handling. Spare vehicles are kept available for emergencies.

Dollimore & Christie has been a member of the British Association of Removers for the past 30 years. The business celebrated its 35th anniversary trading as Dollimore & Christie in 2012. BAR membership requires compliance with stringent requirements covering staff training, vehicle inspections, health and safety, and insurance cover.
