About Hackworthy and Sons Removals
Hackworthy and Sons Removals is a family owned removal company with its headquarters in Plymouth. The site says it has been locally owned for over 40 years, and second, third and fourth generation family members now work alongside each other.
Removals are carried out throughout Devon and Cornwall and the wider South West, from St Just and Penzance to Barnstaple and Minehead in the north and Torquay, Exmouth and Seaton in the south. National, European and international relocations are also offered. The site says national companies hand South West relocations to the business to manage on their behalf.
The company began under Ron Hackworthy as a parcel carrier, then moved on to delivering new furniture and then home removals. A first warehouse was bought in Prince Rock, Plymouth in 1976. Ron's son Reg and his wife Ruth took over in the 1990s, winning national and local contracts for removals and distribution, and the family later moved into self storage. This grew into a separate company, Plymouth Self Storage, which now runs 3 sites across Plymouth.
Hackworthy and Sons Removals is a member of the British Association of Removers and is inspected annually. Customers can get a quick quote, a full quote, an online survey or a home survey.
