About Hadley & Ottaway Ltd
Hadley & Ottaway Ltd is a removals company based in Cambridge. Founded in 1928 by Jack Hadley and Herbert Ottaway, it has been moving households and offices across East Anglia for over ninety years. The business is family-owned and run, with eleven vehicles and a team of 30 staff, including 20 drivers who are all employed and fully trained.
The company carries out domestic removals, commercial removals and overseas removals. Services listed include storing plants and pots in plastic bins and arranging for senior staff to drive customers' cars to their new home. Recycled materials are used wherever possible, and packaging is recycled or reused as part of the business's green policy.
Hadley & Ottaway covers Cambridge, Cambridgeshire and the east of England. The service areas named are Bishop's Stortford, Saffron Walden and St Neots, and the business works across all Cambridge postcodes from Newham in the west to King's Hedges in the north. The company was relocated to purpose-built premises in Norfolk in 2004 following a management buy-out. Many of the removals and office staff have been with the business for years. Hadley & Ottaway won Which? recognition as Trader of the Month in October 2026.
