About In-Excess Removals Ltd
In-Excess Removals Ltd is a family-run removals company based in Hemel Hempstead. Founded in 1996 by Steve Yates, it has grown from a single vehicle to a fleet of 21 vans and HGVs. The business carries out house removals, commercial removals, European removals and storage services. Packing and unpacking are offered as separate services, with packing materials provided free of charge. Self-pack options are available for customers who prefer to pack themselves, and professional packers can handle all packing and unpacking. Export wrapping is available for delicate, valuable and antique items. Specialist packing materials such as wardrobe boxes, export paper and bubble wrap can be purchased before a move.
In-Excess Removals covers the whole of the UK and Europe. A 24-hour monitored storage facility holds belongings between moves, and storage containers can be delivered to homes for customers to pack at their own pace. The business works with homeowners, families and commercial clients. Steve Yates leads the company alongside his daughter Richenda, who joined in 2019 as lead surveyor and offers virtual surveys. Louise Muldowney has been office manager since the early days, and Lee Winter, fleet general manager, has been with the business since 1999.
In-Excess Removals has been a member of the British Association of Removers since 1999 and is a Which? Trader. The business donates furniture and goods to local charities in Hemel Hempstead.
