About Speights Sheffield Removals
Speights Sheffield Removals is a Sheffield removals and storage business with a history that goes back to horse-drawn carriages, when the firm delivered furniture and coal. The business moved to motor vehicles around the time of the First World War. In 1962 Mr D W Brookes took over the company with his wife. By then the firm owned three flatbed lorries and six furniture vans. Mark Bennett now runs the business, which is also known as Henry Speight Ltd.
The firm carries out commercial and domestic removals for local, regional and long distance moves. Its fleet is purpose-built furniture removal vans, equipped with specialist lifting to load and unload furniture from small chairs to large pianos. The team is employed in house, with all of the team working for the business directly.
Clearance is offered for a full house or single items, and the business is licensed for the removal of surplus effects. Items are recycled or re-used by placing them with charities or new homes. Storage is offered for de-cluttering a home before a sale. In 2002 the business moved away from Crookes Road, where it had been for 111 years. Free quotations are offered.
