About Mark Ratcliffe Moving & Self Store
Mark Ratcliffe Moving & Self Store is an independent, family-run removals business founded in 2017 and based at a depot on the A22 at Lower Dicker, just north of Hailsham in East Sussex. It carries out home removals across East and West Sussex, including Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings, Worthing and Horsham, and routes out to Surrey, Kent and London.
The services include removals, man and van work for smaller loads and partial moves, an in-house packing service, storage, and an international service covering European removals, worldwide household shipping and a UK to Thailand route. Mark surveys overseas moves and antique-heavy moves personally.
Quotes follow a survey of 30 to 45 minutes, in the home or by video, and are written and itemised at a fixed price. Furniture is wrapped in quilted blankets as standard. Crews work in teams of two to four, wear uniforms and are directly employed. New crew members train at a staff training centre at the depot in pad-wrap, antique handling, piano lifting and stair-clears.
Individual steel storage rooms are at the depot, with crate storage at Croydon and Crawley. Access to stored goods is by appointment. The business is registered with the British Association of Removers.
