About Specialised Movers
Specialised Movers is a Sheffield-based removals company formed in 1985. It carries out domestic and commercial removals for houses, flats, offices, libraries, factories, hospitals, museums, schools and local government facilities. The business also provides storage, document shredding, furniture disposal, crate hire, property fogging and removals lift services for flats with restricted access.
Specialised Movers uses trained staff employed directly rather than sub-contractors. Major organisations including Carillion, Balfour Beatty, HSBC, the NHS, the Inland Revenue and the Home Office have used the company regularly. The company operates purpose-built vehicles and holds a 26ft lorry-mounted crane, stair robots and scoots for moving heavy objects such as pianos, safes and fireproof cabinets. A Hiab is available for large, awkward and heavy items including boats, factory machinery and museum pieces. Fogging uses non-toxic, non-corrosive disinfectant to kill germs and bacteria on all surfaces.
The business covers the UK, nationally and internationally. Specialised Movers is a member of the British Association of Removers and its Commercial Moving Group. The company was a finalist in the Commercial Mover of the Year competition for eight consecutive years and won the award in 2021. Staff hold all essential safeguarding and security clearances. One team member is an approved regional instructor for the British Association of Removers.
