About WJ Edwards
WJ Edwards is a family-run removals business based in Luton, established in 1907. The business carries out house removals, flat moves and single-item deliveries across Luton, surrounding areas and nationally. Services listed include local and national removals, home packing with three options, storage at a secure warehouse facility in St Albans, and man with a van work.
The business was founded by William James Edwards, a Luton-born businessman and mayor of the town in the late 1940s. It has passed through four generations of the family. Jim Edwards and his wife Julia run the business alongside Jim's son Duncan. The team dismantles beds and remakes them at the new address, packs kitchens and labels items, and wraps furniture in blankets for transport.
WJ Edwards works for homeowners and customers across the country. The business has moved grand pianos, harps and other items, and can send two medium-sized vehicles or a transit van with a hydraulic lift when needed. Packing materials and storage are available to support removals. Customers can arrange a free survey and book a removal at a time that suits their schedule. The business has helped celebrities and footballers to move house.
