About Abels Moving Services
Abels Moving Services is a removals business based in Ely. It moves households across the UK and internationally, and also handles office and commercial relocations. The services listed are packing, transport, unpacking, storage, contractor coordination, and settling-in support. Specialist packing is offered for fine art, antiques, paintings, pianos, grandfather clocks and chandeliers, as well as wine collections and classic cars. International moves include customs clearance, export packing and worldwide shipping.
The business covers the UK and operates internationally. Abels was founded in 1958 by Noel D Abel and began by delivering newly purchased goods from salesrooms across Norfolk. Every team member is trained at the in-house Abels Training School. Work starts with a personal consultation by phone to understand the move and any specialist items, followed by a free home survey or video assessment. A detailed written quote is then provided, covering costs, timelines and services included. On moving day, the crew handles packing, loading, transport, unpacking and arranging belongings in the new home.
Abels holds a Royal Warrant for Removals and Storage Services, first awarded in 1988 and renewed in January 2025. The business is the first removals company ever granted a Royal Warrant. All removals include comprehensive liability cover, with additional protection available for high-value items. Packing materials are supplied by Abels, and full unpacking and removal of empty cartons are offered. The business operates a nationwide network of climate-controlled storage facilities.
